Interests: Missions. women's ministry, new cultures. I like softball, racketball, and swimming. People fascinate me...I like just sitting watching people. I know it sounds wierd, but people are so cool. You can learn a lot about someone's personality from just observing them in their environment. Try it sometime...
Expertise: I am an expert now at cleaning...no seriously...i think now I'm like the spot nazi!! Maybe I should start a cleaning business and hire everyone to clean houses for me. My Husband and I are currently interning with Chi Alpha Campus Ministry at Tulane University in the Big Easy!! :)

Oops...I forgot to post pics of the nursery... :) We haven't figured out what we want to put on the walls, but everything else is done. Enjoy!

Counting down...taking time for personal reflection

Deep thoughts on an emotional day in pregnancy:

So things have been moving VERY slow at this point now that I'm not working. I stopped working August 1st and began to busy myself with getting myself, Marshal, and the house ready for the baby's arrival. I've been able to busy my mind for the most part to conceal the anxiety about the upcoming delivery. We have only a couple of weeks until my due date!

However, now that most everything's done things have gotten a little lonely. Of course, pregnancy hormonal changes haven't been helping.. :P I think it's the first time that it's really hit me that I don't have many friends that still live here since we left for a year. Everyone who is here works during the day so I kinda feel like a bum lacking in a social life at the moment. O_O

I'm so glad that the friends I do have are so awesome, and I look forward to every moment that I can spend with them! I love you guys! It's really made me appreciate the true deep friendships that I have even more. I've been surrounded by so many people as a part of Chi Alpha for so long that now that I don't have that there's this awkward silence in my life. I'd forgotten how it felt not to always have someone to call up to hang out.

That's probably the hardest part of being back in Ruston. It's so crazy how much I've depended on people to fill my time and efforts! Now I really feel God pulling at my heart to let him fill me to overflowing. Almost as if he is allowing me to feel that lonliness to draw me to Him again. It's truly humbling to be in this place. I can't explain it...

I think that sometimes I'm afraid to let there be silence because I don't know what to do with silence. I'm really praying that in this time of quiet that God speaks louder than he's ever spoken! His ability to heal me has been overwhelming, but there's still so much left to be done!

For those of you who have gone through pregnancy, I'm sure you've had the same ups and downs at some point. some days I'm full of energy and drive, and others it's all I can do to wash the dishes!

On a lighter note:

I had an ultrasound last week and Reid's approximate weight was 7 lbs. 11 oz.! (and that was with three weeks left to go! Holy cow! lol. We also had a private family shower this past weekend so it was a wonderful time of visiting and getting the baby's nursery finished! Here's a few pictures...well...several pictures. :P Enjoy!

The happy couple...37 1/2 weeks pregnant

Granny knows best! They had to cut string long enough to fit perfectly around my belly...
Granny almost had it right on! Go Granny!

Our diaper cake my Aunt Donna made...beautiful!

Mom and Tammy (mother-in-law) looking pretty

My diaper pin had "poop" in it!! :)

After a hard night's work on the nursery we sat down for some bonding time with Reid.
We decorated my tummy to say "Hi Papa" since my Daddy couldn't make it. :)

Mom finally got to feel Reid move! She was so excited! Courtney recorded it on her new phone

Pregnancy updates and pics...

So the last couple of weeks have flown by, and I'm amazed at where the time went. I finished my last day of work last Friday, so now I've been busy tackling our house and enjoying the time to get things done before the baby comes in 5 weeks.

I apparently finished work just in time. I've been sick for about three weeks with what I thought was annoying sinus issues courtesy of the pregnancy. However, I finally made myself go to urgent care today after injuring my tailbone from the chronic coughing. Don't ask me how someone can injure themselves from coughing, but lucky me did. O_O

So, today I've been bored out of my mind because all I can do is walk when possible and lay down (seeing as I can't actually sit down without shooting pain). Turns out I have a bad case of bronchitis...not allergies...urg. Kinda wishing I'd gone to the doc a little sooner and maybe avoided a double whammy. Urg....oh well.

Other than that, the pregnancy is going well. Reid is rapidly growing and pretty soon I'll start going weekly to the OBGYN! The nursery is actually a nursery now compliments of Gabe and Grubby and my hubby. :) Thanks guys! They all worked their tails off to get the storage shelves built and the office moved out of Reid's room. It's actually Reid's room now and not the junk room so I'm stoked. The reality that we're about to have this baby is strongly setting in now! All we have left to do is put the crib set out and the curtains up when my mom comes in a week and a half! I can't wait!

Warrior School threw us a baby shower last Sunday so it was exciting getting to put everything in the nursery with Tiffany. Thanks for the help Tiff! :) Here's a few fun pics from the shower. Enjoy!

Where did the time go??

Marshal and I just celebrated our 3 year anniversary and I can't believe how fast time has flown by! I never would've seen myself where we are now. We're back in Ruston and expecting our first little one in just 12 weeks! Reid is doing well and is strong at 2 lbs 6 oz. I'm measuring about an inch above what's the norm, but he's just fine. He's gonna be a big baby! :P We've finally decided to call him by his middle name...Reid. We didn't want him being called Jack. I know it sounds crazy, but we both don't care much for Jack...at least not for our kid...hehe.

I've promised updated pics so here you go! I finally scanned the most recent ultrasound. They got a good profile of him this time. Yay! He wasn't so camera shy...hehe. Enjoy!
Me at 26 weeks...
